While most people typically consider going shorter with their hair for the summer months, Jennifer Lopez has other ideas. In fact, she’s done the opposite, and debuted a new style (and shade of “bronde”) that sees far more hair framing her face than before.

The star’s latest makeover revolves around a thick new fringe, which makes her look even more youthful than before – if that’s possible. The new style was cut in by one of her trusted hairdressers, Lorenzo Martin.

Martin shared the results of Lopez’s restyle on his Instagram account, and while we suspect there may be some stealthily-placed extensions at work here to add body, movement and length, the look is working well for the actor. The layered fringe is reminiscent of Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin, and is a great style to try if you’re looking for a flattering style that frames and draws attention to the eyes.

It’s not just the bangs, though. Lopez’s new “melting honey” hair colour is also notable. An offshoot of the bronde (a mix of brunette and blonde) hair colour trend, it involves applying lighter highlights at strategic points in the cut to illuminate the face and make skin look visibly more youthful. And, if it’s good enough for J Lo, it’s good enough for us.
