TikTok is really the hub of trends and innovations. Everyday we get put on a new makeup, skin or hair hack that will make our lives just that bit easier, or make beauty more fun than it already is. This week’s viral beauty moment has transcended the social media apps and is being dubbed by users all over social media as the greatest makeup hack ever. The bonus, is you don’t need to be a bona fide makeup artist or pay an arm and leg for it.

The hack is simple and it involves one product that does it all. We all love a multi-tasker and this Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Matte Liquid Lipstick is what NYC MUA and TikTok user @EhlieLuna recommends for the most efficient yet effortless and quickest full makeup look. With its incredible versatility and affordable price, retailing at just £12.99 (currently on sale for £11, so don’t walk, run), it’s really no wonder this TikTok trend has captivated makeup nerds all over the globe.

The hack is simple. You grab the lip stain, you apply it around your eyes and blend it with a brush for that smokey eye finish. Then you follow it up by applying a line under each of you cheekbones or at the hollows of your cheeks and blending it in quickly after, for contouring. Lastly apply it over your lips, so it serves as what the product itself suggests, a lip stain. Considering this particular product is only a lip stain the colour deposit is very impressive and users everywhere have praised how the formula sits nicely all over the skin without feeling sticky or looking muddy.
The video has now amassed over half a million views on TikTok and counting while on Twitter it’s at 1.7Million views. Eveyone wants in. The shade that Ehlie uses ‘Pretty Auburn’ has now sold out, however, there are other brown shades still available.
Users on Twitter and TikTok have also suggested doing this hack using other fun colours like ‘Flaming Flamingo’ for that epic Barbie core power pink look – instead of using it as contour, apply it at the apples of the cheeks and drag it up to the temples of the face for a blusher finish – or perhaps a more subtle ‘Sweet Raspberry’ which is a pretty mauve-like pink that could work for a flushed but still natural look, specially if you have fair skin.
