Selena Gomez is all about an unexpected manicure shade and her latest color choice is no different.
The Rare Beauty founder must have been inspired by the April weather, given that she and her manicurist Tom Bachik recently whipped up a muted yellow manicure that feels like misty early spring sunshine. The color, perfectly painted on Gomez’s squoval-shaped nails, definitely lands on the pastel spectrum, but it’s more subdued than sweet. “Subtle for spring,” Bachik captioned his pic of the polish. He didn’t share the exact shade he used on Gomez, but OPI’s Blinded by the Ring Light, Essie’s Sunny Business, or Gucci’s Glossy Nail Polish in Cecelia Ivory would give you a similar look — ideal for cheering you up during those dreary April showers and brightening up a beautiful day.
This is not Gomez’s first foray into the perky sunshine hue. She’s a big fan of all things yellow. In her bleach blonde days in 2021, the Only Murders in the Building actor rocked what Bachik called a “pastel Skittles” mani including a light, sunny yellow. She wore a similar butter yellow for her “Calm Down” music video, and in November 2022, she channeled fall vibes with a bright marigold manicure that really popped against her purple dress. She also gave St. Patrick’s Day nails an olive green twist with a chic brown-green because when you’re Selena Gomez, you (and your nails) always stand out in the crowd.
