From Doja Cat, Lil Nas X and Jared Leto’s Choupette impersonations to Kim Kardashian’s mesmerising pearl-on-pearl moment, no one could be accused of playing it safe at the 2023 Met Gala. Honouring the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, the gala was a visual feast of feathers, tulle, crystals and fake whiskers. Naturally, the beauty looks were just as arresting.
Jessica Chastain, known for her signature red hair, surprised us all with a platinum blonde wig, to the point where she was almost unrecognisable. Dramatic hair transformations defined the night: actor Marion Cotillard debuted a pale pink bowl cut, while models Cara Delevingne and Amber Valletta opted for micro fringes and mullet-inspired shag cuts (Delevingne also ditched her classic blonde tresses for bleached turquoise).
The most dramatic moment of all came courtesy of actor Florence Pugh, who unveiled a brilliant new buzzcut beneath her theatrical Valentino feathered crown.
