Even before celebrity makeup brands bounced back from the cringe collections of the noughties to the multi-billion dollar empires they’ve become today, Jennifer Lopez was busy establishing what she’s all about when it comes to glam. Namely: glow.
Among the more questionable whiffs, her JLo Glow perfume was one of the few scents that lasted the distance with its citrus-floral scent and sunlit bottle, bedecked in a silver JLo necklace. And “glow” is most definitely still the vibe she’s running with today since the singer has become synonymous with super glowy skin and hair.
Her current flirtation with consumer beauty, JLo Beauty, also centres around taking her trademark glow and bottling it, only this time for the face and body. And alongside sharing her formulas, Jennifer Lopez used the platform to share the tips and hacks she’s picked up along the way.
They’re obviously working for her, since in a selfie posted by her JLo Beauty Instagram account on 21 June, it looks like she might be blinded by her own reflection. The picture shows JLo lifting her hand to her forehead to shade her eyes, which makes sense, given the mega-watt golden glow she’s emitting from her cheekbones, brow bone and general complexion. And we’re reaching for our own pair of shades as we speak.
Aside looking Angel-levels of lit from within, Jen kept the rest of her her skin and makeup minimal with brushed-up brows and a light coat of mascara. And the picture was accompanied by a caption that read: “Celebrate your summer glow with a selfie on #NationalSelfieDay and #FirstDayOfSummer 🤩”
As for what exactly she used on her complexion to create that much radiance, Jen shared her “simple hack” to “#GlowLikeJLo,” Telling followers to “mix That Star Filter Complexion Booster into That Big Screen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Moisturiser for a healthy, lit-from-within glow.”
